Cake Poker Room Review

Overview
Cake Poker is an up and coming poker room with many new players signing up every day.  Cake Poker’s network as a whole is also consistently growing with many new rooms joining up.  It looks as though Cake will be a competitor in the online poker industry for many years to come.  Cake Poker has good low limit hold’em and Omaha cash games, as well high quality, well run tournaments.  The competition is fairly soft and the initial deposit bonus is very lucrative and easy to clear.  Make sure you use our Cake Poker sign up code in order to get the best deposit bonus around.

Initial Deposit Bonus
Cake Poker offers a 100% matching bonus up to $500 on initial deposits.  To release the bonus you must earn Frequent Player Points by playing in cash games and tournaments.  In cash games you earn 1 point for every $1 that is raked up to a maximum of 3 FPP’s per hand.  For every $1 paid in tournament fees you earn 7 FPP’s.  Each Frequent Player Point you earn is equivalent to $0.06 of your Cake poker bonus.  The bonus is then released in increments of $10 with your pending bonus decreasing each time a payment is made.  Just a reminder that you should make sure you use a Cake sign up code to ensure that you receive your bonus.

Promotions

  • New Depositor Freerolls – Every Saturday at 2pm there is a $500 freeroll for new depositors.
  • Gold Chip Giveaways – As you earn more FPP’s you will earn gold chips.  You can use these gold chips to play in exclusive tournaments or save them for use in the Cake Poker shop.
  •  Gold Cards – A gold card is released each time a ring game table reaches a predetermined amount of rake.  If the card released matches one of your hole cards, then you get to add that card to your collection.
  • Gold Card Daily Lottery – Cake announces a new gold card daily, and if you own that specific card you can win cash prizes or tournament entries.
  • Gold Card 500 – Every gold card that you win earns you miles in a weekly gold card race.  The top 10 mile collectors each week win cash prizes.
  • Refer-a-Friend – $100 for each of you.

Tournaments
Cake has new multitable tournaments starting every fifteen minutes, which means you should be able to find a tournament to your liking at any time of the day.  Cake runs a lot of re-buy/add-on tournaments and there are usually a ton of re-buys. Most of the tournaments are of the low buy-in variety, but you can find up to $30 tournaments consistently throughout the day.

Sit and go tournaments take a while to fill up at Cake and you would be hard pressed to find one with a buy-in larger than $23.  Cake is primarily a cash game and multi-table tournaments card room.

Cash Games
The low limit traffic for hold’em and Omaha cash games is pretty solid.  There are always plenty of games going with blinds $5/$10 and lower for hold’em and $0.50/$1 and lower for Omaha.  Cake also offers micro limits of $0.02/$0.04 which are always filled in both hold’em and Omaha ring games.

Software & Graphics
Cake’s software is functional and the graphics are ok.  Cake has 20 3-d avatars that you can choose from, all of which are fairly realistic.  The software is constantly being updated and any problems with lag or other issues from the early days have since been fixed.

Support
Cake Poker offers an extensive FAQ section where you can find the answers to the majority of your questions, as well as email support.  The support is usually fast and useful, but hopefully they will add a phone number soon.
